Despite his newfound fame from winning America’s Got Talent (AGT), Goodall is keeping his janitor job at West Vigo High School for now. In an exclusive interview with NBC Insider, Goodall shared that he’s still enjoying the balance between his day job and his blossoming music career.
Reflecting on the whirlwind of opportunities post-win, Goodall shared with WTHR in Indiana, “As far as I go and [my wife] go, this is the first time our life has been unscripted. AGT has not only changed our life, but money aside, the opportunities are kind of endless right now.”
While the fame may feel surreal, Goodall remains grounded. “They were [freaking out] at first, but they see me every day, so it’s kind of like, they still remember me from the show, but they see me every day,” he explained, adding that the excitement of his success is starting to wear off, at least in his hometown of Terre Haute.
In addition to his school job, Goodall has been busy adding high-profile performances to his schedule. He wowed the crowd at a November Indiana Pacers game when he sang the national anthem and also performed at Illinois State University. Looking ahead, Goodall will open for AGT judge Howie Mandel in an upcoming show and perform his first full concert at Pittsburg’s Palace Theatre in January 2025.
With so many exciting opportunities on the horizon, Goodall’s career is clearly just getting started. “A lot of exciting stuff going on,” he told NBC Insider. We can’t wait to see where his journey leads next.
