Jeff Daniels’ heartfelt original song was so powerful that it moved Kelly Clarkson to tears!

He has received nominations for Golden Globes, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Tony Awards, and has appeared in films including Arachnophobia, Dumb and Dumber and Speed. He has carved an impressive and eclectic acting career. Yet, however, the majority of people tend not to know that Jeff Daniels also used to write music. Many were introduced to Jeff’s secret talent when he appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Jeff pulled his acoustic guitar and described the next song, “This next one is a love song to my guitar,” with a storytelling intro in which he elaborated that this song came from times when “you’re sitting out on the porch with just your best friend, the guitar.” He followed with an original song titled “When My Fingers Find Your Strings”. Kelly Clarkson dropped her jaw and was blown away by the beauty of the song asking the audience, “What is happening?” At the end of the emotional tune, both Jeff and Kelly had teary eyes.

The song’s beauty left Kelly and onlookers stunned—and the same was true for viewers of the online clip. Within 10 days, the video exploded to 1.4M + views. Fans jet to the comments to praise the performance, with one viewer writing, “Jeff Daniels isn’t even a musician and that was one of the most moving, beautiful and well-written songs I’ve ever heard. And some decent guitar playing to boot. That, folks, is talent!”

Jeff Daniels stated that he wrote nearly 450 original songs during his interview segment from the show. He continued, saying The more I was acting in his early years of acting the more songwriting was something to last showcase, the fact that songwriting was a creative process which he controlled. He added that it around had turned into a second choice and that he believed he could “fail as an actor, and then fail as a singer-songwriter.” It seems he has failed at both.

The success of his acting career and musical talents speak to the fact that there is no reason for any kind of creativity to remain boxed in, and the song lyrics are diplomatic in reminding the listener of what is sometimes the greatest gift provided by ecstasy, which are often gifts to the world.
