In 2009, shortly after Susan Boyle’s riveting Britain’s Got Talent Audition, the singer chose to perform another popular show tune for the Season 3 Semi Finals: “Memory” from Cats.

About “Memory” from Cats
Composed by the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber for the 1981 hit Broadway musical Cats, “Memory” is sung by the character Grizabella after facing emotional turmoil when she was isolated from the other Jellice Cats. The climax of the musical, “Memory” is the most well-known tune from the show, and the lyrics are inspired by the poem “Rhapsody on a Windy Night” by T.S. Elliot. The song has since been covered by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Nicole Scherzinger, Barry Manilow, and more.
