‘Judge Judy’ will end after 25 years, but Judy Sheindlin, the highest-paid daytime host, has no plans to retire

“The cases are genuine. The judgments are irrevocable. Presenting Judge Judy.”

For a quarter of a century, Judy Sheindlin, famously recognized as Judge Judy, has graced American television screens, presiding over some of the most straightforward court cases and others that have left her proclaiming, “I handle imbeciles like you without breaking a sweat.”

Her television program, Judge Judy, boasts three Emmy Awards and has secured some of the highest ratings in syndicated television. It has also established her as one of the highest-paid television show hosts. However, with the news that Judge Judy’s long-standing show is coming to a close, one may wonder about the 79-year-old’s future plans.

Fans will be pleased to learn that retirement is not on her agenda, at least not at this point.

“I’m far from being weary. I’m not into golf or tennis. I hold no desire to master mahjong, chess, or checkers. I understand what brings me joy,” she shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

Early Life and Career: Judy Sheindlin was born on October 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. Her father was a dentist, and her mother was a woman she described as having a simple, down-to-earth demeanor.

She attended James Madison High School in New York. Following her graduation, she pursued a government major at American University in Washington, DC. Subsequently, she embarked on a journey to earn a law degree at New York Law School, graduating in 1965 and passing the state bar examination in the same year.
